Faucet & Fixture Installation

Hard-water mineral buildup is the number-one killer of faucets and valves in the North Valley. Cartridges seize up, aerators clog, finishes etch. We repair and install faucets, shower valves, hose bibs, and fixtures. And we'll tell you straight when a $30 cartridge does the job better than a whole new faucet. No sense charging you for more than you need.

What it costs: Flat-rate per fixture for the labour, so a difficult under-sink access does not change the number we quoted. Whether you supply the fixture or we do is your call and it only moves the parts side.

Signs you need faucet & fixture installation

  • Dripping faucet or a handle that won't fully shut off
  • Low or sputtering flow (scaled aerator or cartridge)
  • Corroded shut-off valves under sinks

How we handle it

  1. Repair-or-replace call

We diagnose whether a cartridge/aerator fixes it before recommending a new fixture.

  2. Clean install

New fixtures set with fresh supply lines and shut-offs so the whole connection is sound.

  3. Scale advice

We point out when hard water is the root cause and how a softener stops the cycle.

What to know about faucet & fixture installation in Arizona

The biggest enemy of faucets and fixtures in the Valley is the same hard water that wrecks everything else: 16-20 grains per gallon of calcium and magnesium scaling up aerators, cartridges, and valve seats. A faucet that drips or sputters usually isn't 'worn out' the way people assume. It's a scaled-up aerator you can unscrew and soak in vinegar, or a cartridge crusted with mineral. We replace cartridges by brand and model. Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Pfister all use different ones, and we keep the common ones on the truck, so a drippy kitchen faucet is a same-visit fix, not a back-order.

There's a real repair-versus-replace honesty here, because not every fixture is worth saving. A quality brass-bodied faucet from Moen, Delta, or Kohler is a rebuild candidate for decades. Parts are cheap and available, and many carry lifetime cartridge warranties you may not know you have. But the bargain builder-grade faucet with a zinc or plastic body, common in spec homes, often costs more in labor to chase parts than to simply replace with something serviceable. We'll tell you which one you've got and which way the money points.

Fixture work is where small code and safety details earn their keep. Every faucet should have a proper air gap or anti-siphon protection so dirty water can't back-siphon into your supply. That's why dishwasher air gaps and hose-bib vacuum breakers exist. Shutoff valves under sinks are another quiet failure point. The old multi-turn stops seize up with scale and won't close when you need them, so we often swap them for quarter-turn ball stops during a faucet job. Next repair is then a five-minute shutoff instead of a water-off-to-the-whole-house emergency.

When you're remodeling, the smart move is to match the valve to the trim you actually want for the long haul. Pressure-balancing and thermostatic shower valves keep you from getting scald-blasted when somebody flushes a toilet, and a thermostatic valve holds your set temperature even as supply pressure shifts. Upgrading trim later is easy when the rough-in valve is good. Fighting an obsolete valve behind tile is expensive. We think a step ahead so today's faucet swap doesn't box you into opening a wall two years from now.

Faucet & Fixture Installation, frequently asked

My new faucet already drips, why?
Usually grit or scale in the cartridge from our hard water. We flush and reseat it, or replace the cartridge.
Can you install a fixture I bought?
Absolutely. We'll set anything you supply, and we'll flag it if it's not suited to our water.
My faucet drips constantly. Is it cheaper to repair or replace?
Usually a repair, if it's a quality brand. Most drips are a worn cartridge or a scaled aerator, and cartridges for Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Pfister are cheap and often warrantied for life. We only steer you toward a replacement when the faucet is a bargain-grade body where the parts cost more in labor than a new fixture.
Why do my faucets and showerheads keep clogging with white buildup?
That's hard-water scale, calcium and magnesium from Valley water at 16-20 grains per gallon. It builds up in aerators, showerheads, and cartridges. You can soak the removable parts in vinegar to dissolve it, but the long-term fix is a water softener, which keeps the scale from forming in the first place.
The shutoff valve under my sink won't turn. Is that normal?
It's common with older multi-turn stops. They seize up with mineral and corrosion and quit on you right when you need them. We recommend swapping them for quarter-turn ball valves during any faucet job, so the next repair is a quick local shutoff instead of killing water to the whole house.
Can you install a faucet I bought online?
Yes, we install customer-supplied fixtures. One honest caveat: real cheap online faucets often have plastic internals and proprietary parts that are tough to service later, so we'll point that out before we install. A brass-bodied unit from a major brand is the better long-term value.
What's a pressure-balancing shower valve and do I need one?
It's a valve that stops the sudden temperature swing when somebody flushes a toilet or runs water elsewhere, so you don't get scalded or hit with a cold blast. Modern code requires that protection. A step up is a thermostatic valve, which holds your exact set temperature even as household pressure moves around.
