Tankless Water Heaters in Anthem, AZ

We're based in Anthem, and the water heaters in the original 1999 to 2005 builds are the ones we get called about most. After two decades of 16 to 20 grain water, most of those tanks are done, and tankless comes up in nearly every replacement conversation.

Anthem homeowners call Liberty for tankless water heaters because we're local to the Valley, licensed, and answer the phone 24/7. Anthem is our home base, so we know it cold. It's a master-planned community built largely from 1999 on, split between Country Club and Parkside. The homes are newer, sure, but two decades of 16 to 20 gpg hard water has already started scaling the water heaters and fixtures in the original builds. We'll show you the real problem and your options, then fix it right the first time. Fair pricing, no surprises.

Anthem is Liberty Plumbing's home turf, and it shows in what we service here. The community broke ground in 1999 as a Del Webb master-planned development, which means the original-build homes in Country Club, Parkside, and the Anthem Hills areas are now 25+ years old. That puts the factory-installed 40- and 50-gallon water heaters well past their 10-12 year design life, and we replace failed original units almost weekly. Anthem runs on hardness routinely in the 16-20 grain range, which scales the tank bottom, clogs the cold inlet, and shortens heater life on top of age.

What we see on Anthem plumbing

  • Original 1999–2005 water heaters now well past their hard-water lifespan
  • Heavy scale on fixtures and tankless units without softeners

How a Anthem tankless water heaters call goes

  1. Gas & venting check

Tankless needs adequate gas supply and sealed venting, we verify your line can feed it before quoting.

  2. Scale protection built in

We pair every install with a softener or an isolation/scale-filter kit so AZ minerals don't choke it.

  3. Annual descale plan

We set you up on a yearly flush so the warranty stays valid and flow stays full.

Tankless Water Heaters in Anthem, FAQ

Is tankless worth it in Arizona?
Yes, if you stay on top of the annual descaling. Our hard water will clog an unmaintained unit fast. Put a softener in front of it and it's a 20-year appliance.
Can my gas line handle it?
More often than not the existing line is undersized for a tankless burner. We measure it and upsize if it needs it, and that's part of the quote.
Do I really need a water softener with a tankless heater in Phoenix?
Pretty much, yes. Our 16-20 grain water scales the narrow heat exchanger fast, and unsoftened water can ruin a tankless unit in a couple of years. Soften the water and descale it yearly and a tankless will reach its long lifespan out here.
How often does a tankless need to be flushed?
About once a year in our hard water, and more often if you don't have a softener. Units with isolation valves make the descaling flush quick. If yours doesn't have them, adding them is worth the trouble.
Will a tankless give me unlimited hot water for the whole house?
It won't run out of hot water, but flow rate is the limit. Run two showers and a dishwasher at once and you can outrun a single unit, especially in winter when the incoming water comes in colder. Size it right for your peak demand and it works.
Why does converting from a tank to tankless cost more than I expected?
Gas tankless units usually need a bigger gas line and a new sealed vent, and electric models can mean a major panel upgrade. Those home-infrastructure changes, not the unit itself, are what drive the retrofit cost. We'll size all of it up front.
Does a tankless work as well in Flagstaff as in Phoenix?
It works, but the incoming water up north runs colder, so the unit has to raise the temperature further. That drops its effective flow rate. A unit sized right for Phoenix may need to be bigger to do the same job in the high country.
How fast can Liberty get to my Anthem home?
Anthem is our home base, so we're usually the fastest option in the community. For routine work we typically reach Country Club, Parkside, and Anthem Hills addresses same-day, and we put emergencies like slab leaks and burst water heaters first, because we're not driving up I-17 from the valley to get to you.
